Jesus, Our Righteous Lamb

Greetings again to all my brothers and sisters in Christ! It has been a great week, though i worked approx 60hours this week, I praise the Lord that I am able to give Him all the praise for He has sustained me throughout this week. I'd like to share today on some good spiritual food which I have received from AGIF again this week. A chinese pastor gave a word of encouragement that encouraged me lots!

The chinese word "yang" on the left represents sheep. The sheep consists of 3 horizontal lines ("san"). It represents the God is 3 in One to me. The vertical line draws a foundation for this word. Tells me how important the foundation is and the 2 strokes on top, represents the 2 antennas that we ought to have and ever listening to God. Notice the strokes are 1 upwards and 1 downwards. Communication is 2-way with God!

This chinese character "wo" on the left means me or myself. Since this character is rather complicated, i dont have much to write on. If you would notice, this character has got 4 mini strokes, one on each corner. This character speaks to me as I am fearfully and wonderfully made. A complex being. This chinese character, written so complicated, made me think that I am complex!. God made me and He said that I was good! Amen! :)

But what really amazed me was that when the wonderful word "yang" and "wo" put together. With God the 3 in One as our foundation and a constant 2-way communication with Him over me. Lord over my life, it makes me a righteous person. Why do I say so?Look at the character below.

The character "yang" on top of the character "wo" makes a word "yi". The word "yi" simply means righteous. This means to say, when we have God, 3 in 1 is over us, we are righteous!.. This is achieved by having God as our foundation and a constant 2-way communication with Him. This is the traditional writing of the word righteous. The new simplified edition would have defeated this wonderful and awesome character!.

It has been a wonderful 3 weeks that I have been to Shanghai. Today also marks the national day for this land China. May the Lord bless this nation abundantly!.. There's definitely something different in the spiritual environment here as alot of people are crying out for God's mercy and so hungry for God!

Are we Allowing God to Arise Over Us Today? Do you know that you are fearfully, beautifully and wonderfully made as this character righteous?

Life in Shanghai..

Well, many may ask, how's life in Shanghai?.. Not that i dont wanna say its good or its bad, but look at it this way, its 1somthing am in the morning and i am still at office. I mean, there must be some better place to be! On a saturday night in Shanghai, than to work at this hour!
Oh ya, the pic on your left, shows a brief look of my apartment. Though it is nothing fancy, but its condusive, cosy and nice. It comes with a small kitchen for me to cook and do all my other stuff there. This serviced apartment comes also with a little bit of extra facilitied like laundrette and a mini gym.
The cost of living in Shanghai is average, somethings are cheaper and somethings are more expensive. If you are talking bout imported goods, it is definitely more expensive. The exchange rate here is RM 0.46 cents to 1 RenMenBi (RMB). Those things that are really cheap will be fruits and vege. You can buy a big bunch of grapes for RMB 2.50 = RM 1.20.
When you move to the little provinces, a whole bagfull of oyster, size of a Carrefour platic bag, filled with it would only cost you around RMB 10 = RM 4.60. These are huge oysters that Mr. Bean use to eat in buffets.
On the other hand, those imported goods like, Emmer Zecna, Renoma shoes and stuff are more costly. A suit will cost you around RMB 2300 = RM 1150 which in Malaysia u can get probably half the price. Those cell phones, Nokia is costs more, but AMOI (the local made brand) is half the price of Malaysian Amoi phones. A good Amoi which have all the specs, cost around RM 500. You are talking bout 256K color screen, slide phone, slim, bluetooth and other gadjets that comes with it.
So, it all depends whether u wud want to buy the local stuff or u wud just wanna stick to KFC or Mc'Ds. Local food is cheaper, and you wouldnt want to eat much of their meat here cos it has a different taste that turns u off. Vege and fruits are good here but u gotta cook it yourself. If you would order the fruits and vege in restaurants, it defeats the purpose.
Thats all for now friends.. God Bless!.. watch out for my next update!

Abundant Grace Intl Fellowship

Abundant Grace Church, Pudong, Shanghai

Abundant Grace International Fellowship (AGIF). Yup, thats what it is, this is the church that I am currently attending in Shanghai. This church is located at Shanghai, Pudong (East) while the place that I am staying is located at Zhongsan Park, Shanghai, Puxi. (West). The Sunday service starts at 3pm every sunday right till 4.30pm.
I am happy that I am able to gain spiritual food from this church. But sadly, this Sunday, I gotta take a break as i have an appointment in my office at 3pm, today. Last sunday, this Bro. Rob shared something from his heart and God spoke to me clearly. During the service, he shared this story of him being mentored by his senior pastor in United States. His sharing that meant spoke to me alot is somewhat like below..
Many years back, Bro. Rob was a youth pastor. His senior pastor took him for a series church visiting of few months. This is to learn from other churches what they do and how to improve on their own. The first few weeks they went to some Charismatic churches and he was well able to engage into their worship service. He was able to sing and was able to worship as He can normally do. However, as the weeks come by, they began to visit other types of churches and some churches that practices different ways of worship.
There was this particular week that He went to this church and he was not able to worship. He was not able to worship as he can. He was not talking bout cult churches, he was talking about Christian churches that have different ways of worshipping the Abba Father. Something that amazes him was that his senior pastor was able to sing in tongues, sing and engaged in the church's way of worship.
On their way back from the church, He asked his senior pastor. His Senior pastor knew what was on his mind and he said this, "It doesn't really matter what church or what way they worship. It doesn't matter they sing or dont sing in tongues, it doesn't matter if they use do not blow the shofar or even banner parades, it doesn't matter if they sit down, kneel, stand or lie down to worship.
As long as the worship lifts up the Name that is above every name, The Name that every knee would bow and every tongue would confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!, You are free to engage in that type of worship!.And from that very week onwards, Bro. Rob was able to engage in many ways of worship.
That very week I, was utterly transformed in my mindset, transformed in my mind. Transformed in my spiritual man. Had I missed this service, I was not able to learn what God has intended me to learn. All Glory To You Lord!.. For those who are curious what songs they sing in AGIF, let me post it in my next few posts.God Bless You all!

Shanghai, The Land of the Chinese

It has been sometime that i have not blogged into www.freewebs.com/davidique. And the funny thing is that I cant even connect to that website when I am in Shanghai. Now it looks as if I gotta work out a new website that I can post some of the happening stuff in Shanghai. Sorry, that the flobble box is being removed. Perhaps when i am more free, i can add it up here for your convenience.

Wow! It takes me to be away to find time to blog, and I am amazed at how things are different and having to pick up the language here. I'm still learning . i am sure i will be able to get used to this place easier. I am still trying to get used to living in Shanghai. The temperature today is 18 degrees. We should be expecting the temperature to drop to 8 degrees sometime middle of next month. Comparatively, the last time when i was here, it was fuming 35-38 degrees

For those of you who are wondering where is David Chan , I am currently in Shanghai, China. Which part of it in China Shanghai is located East of China which is very close to South Korea. (approx 1hr flight). Shanghai is the 2nd capital city of China while Beijing, 1st capital city of China is approx 2hr flight from Shanghai. Yup, that's where the 2008 Olympics will be held.

The flight, a 5hr 20mins flight from KLIA will bypass Cambodia, Vietnam and Hong Kong before reaching Shanghai . The GMT +8.00 (same time difference as KL) makes it easier for me to adapt to the environment easier. Shanghai, the land of >21million population, contains approx 5-10% foreigners. Means to say, 1 out of 10-15 people you meet is a foreigner. I am one of the foreigner
Just to exaggerate this, if every Tom, Dick and Hairy were to take a pee in Malaysia, they will probably drown the whole Malaysia Sorry for being so sacarstic, but perhaps for those people who are imagining, don't even think of what will happen if this is done to Singapore .

Take care my friends, my dear and all vistors. God Bless Ya'all!
